This work deals with the ongoing debate on evolution versus Intelligent Design that was heightened during 2005 in the United States. It depicts two medical illustrations of the human eye. The illustration on the left is a frontal view of the eye, while the image on the the right is a cross section of the organ. In the work I constructed a three dimensional image of God emerging from the eye, by cutting-out and layering parts of the frontal illustration. To the image on the left, I added vertical lines that represent a cross section of the constructed god. The work is inspired by the evolution/design debate, the anatomical and conceptual term blind spot, the current sociopolitical reality in the US, and the general character of the contemporary academic and comerical visual arts scene.
